British Gas has announced it will be launching a £100 million customer loyalty scheme in April.

It will include reduced energy bills and discounts on insurance and Sky entertainment packages.

The Big Six supplier, owned by Centrica, will offer a bundle combining an energy tariff with the benefits of British Gas Homecare services and a tariff bundled with Hive Active heating and other connected home technology.

Mark Hodges, Chief Executive at Centrica Consumer said: “In the competitive services and energy markets where consumers have many choices, we know we have to work hard to win new business and keep our loyal customers happy. Our customer base is very diverse and what they want and need from us varies significantly.

“The rewards programme we’re unveiling today is about offering customers more than just energy.”

Centrica recently announced it would invest £100 million in new technology start-ups and British Gas extended its price freeze until August.
