ENGIE is offering smart heating controls to its customers in the UK.

The French utility has joined forces with PassivSystems to provide the technology to those customers who choose its new three-year fixed ENGIE Control tariff at no upfront cost.

The controls will provide homeowners with the ability to regulate their heating and hot water from any location using a smart device such as phone, computer or tablet.

The news comes as ENGIE recently entered the UK domestic energy market.

Paul Rawson, CEO of ENGIE’s UK home energy business said: “The cost of heating our homes makes up the greatest proportion of household energy bills so it made absolute sense to us to make smart heating more accessible.

“By allowing our customers to only heat their home when they need to, we hope ENGIE Control will help them feel more in control, reduce the amount of energy they use and save money in the process.”
