Independent energy supplier Utilita has committed to freeze prices until at least 1st April next year.
It is also cutting its tariff, with the average dual fuel customer saving 1.8% or £19.17 a year.
The supplier claims customers will be paying around £184 less on average per year than Big Six customers on the standard variable tariff.
The Big Six companies – British Gas, EDF Energy, E.ON, npower, ScottishPower and SSE – all increased prices this year.
Utilita provides gas and electricity to around 555,000 customers.
