The EU has approved the takeover of a renewable energy firm by two investment groups.

The deal will see Colindale Investment and Goldman Sachs take joint control over Japan Renewable Energy Corporation (JRE).

JRE specialises in managing, developing and operating a range of renewable energy projects in Japan.

The EU concluded the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns as the clean power firm only operates within Japan.
