Shell has opened its first electric vehicle (EV) charging points at its petrol stations in the UK.

Drivers will be able to recharge their EVs in three locations in London, Surrey and Derby and a further seven locations will be launched by the end of the year.

The oil giant said the rapid chargers can charge 80% of the battery in 30 minutes.

The launch comes days after the company bought one of Europe’s largest EV charging providers.
