A total of 19 coal-fired units in China are to be managed using a digital solution.

Siemens is setting up the integrated and connected Remote Operation Centre (ROC) for China Resources Power Holdings Company’s (CR Power) coal fleet, which will give real-time insights into the operational conditions of the plants.

Based on the insights, Siemens’ advanced data analytics will make recommendations for improved performance to help extend the operational lifetime of the power plants.

Tim Holt, CEO of Siemens Power General Services said: “By digitally integrating, connecting and analysing data tied to their power generating assets, we will provide them with new insights and outcomes that will help drive performance as well as increase reliability and availability.”

The ROC will be located at the CR Research Institute in Dongguan, Guangdong Province.
