Good Energy has partnered with the Eden Project to launch its first energy storage solution.

The renewable power provider says the battery units will help the indoor rainforest attraction match its energy demand with supply and save costs.

The new battery, scheduled to be installed in summer 2018, will be made up of a combination of five 50kW fridge-sized units and a control centre.

Visitors will be able to see how the battery works and the environmental and economic benefits it will provide through a new exhibition at the site.

Peter Wroe, Finance Director at Eden Project, said: “Eden is an educational charity so we are pleased to be showcasing this battery storage technology, building on our work with Good Energy on the groundbreaking Selectricity project.

“This is part of Eden’s ongoing efforts to demonstrate innovative and sustainable solutions to energy issues.”
