ChargePoint partners with utility infrastructure firm

The firms aim to accelerate the growth of the UK’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure

A provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment has partnered with a utility infrastructure firm to accelerate the growth of the UK’s charging network.

Fulcrum and ChargePoint aim to deliver an end-to-end service for commercial and residential customers – they say collaborating will allow them to overcome the existing challenges associated with installing EV charging stations, such as dealing with multiple parties.

Fulcrum will design, install and own the necessary electrical infrastructure and become a recommended EV infrastructure provider.

Its licence to own and adopt electrical infrastructure is expected to speed up the installation process.

Christopher Burghardt, Managing Director for ChargePoint Europe, said: “With more than a decade of experience in the EV space and a quickly expanding presence in Europe, we are excited to partner with a forward-thinking company like Fulcrum to help accelerate the adoption of EVs in the UK and beyond.”

Phillip Hammond’s pledge to create a £400 million fund for a national EV charging network has been delayed.
