We are looking for an accomplished business development manager, based and working in England, to help deliver our continued growth aspirations. This position is home based and it will involve regular travel throughout England. The successful individual will receive a competitive salary, , an excellent bonus scheme (no commission), a generous benefits package and a cash for cars allowance.

Since April 2017, business customers have the ability to switch water and waste water retail suppliers. The retail water and waste water market has changed and this role presents an amazing opportunity to join a fantastic business at such an exciting time for the industry. NWG Business and Anglian Water Business have come together to form a new company called Wave. Looking after the water, waste water gas and electricity needs of over 300,000 businesses across England, Scotland and Wales, Wave is an exciting new venture and is poised to become a major new force in the B2B utilities market.

Main Responsibilities:

You will be an accomplished and pro-active business development professional. Using your contacts, sales skills and hard work you will identify, develop and close new contracts with public sector bodies and buying organisations.

You will promote water and water recycling retail services in conjunction with a comprehensive range of value adding services. From initial customer contact to customer transfer, you will own the sales process, ensuring high levels of customer service and consequently a high conversion rate from enquiry to order.

You will:

  • Be a key influencer in the preparation of high quality, competitive and on-time RFI’s, RFQ’s and tenders.
  • Deliver an effective account management service to framework providers.
  • Develop sales opportunities with end customers.
  • Ensure a seamless transition from prospect to successful transfer.

You will be able to work autonomously and as a key member of our team. By building close working relationships with customers and intermediaries, you will be responsible for providing advice to your customers regarding their water, water recycling, profile and behaviour; assisting them to maximise efficiency and minimise their water and wastewater bills. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a successful business development manager. With previous experience in a commercial environment, the successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent relevant qualification and must have proven sales and account management experience. With the ability to build strong customer relationships, you will have extensive experience of securing sales and managing customers based over a large geographical area and be confident working at all levels of the supply chain.

Whilst experience of the water, energy or telecoms markets would be an advantage, it is not essential. A motivated, professional and enthusiastic approach to business development is a pre-requisite.
