With a storage capacity of 30MW, the Yllikkälä Power Reserve One could help store clean energy and enhance grid reliability

Independent renewable energy producer Neoen is set to construct a 30MW energy storage plant in Finland.

Located in the South-East region, Yllikkälä Power Reserve One will help stabilise the national electricity system and cost-effectively enhance grid reliability.

The plant seeks to make use of Finland’s extensive wind resources and integrate renewable energy into the national grid.

The project forms part of the country’s target of becoming carbon neutral by 2035.
