Price comparison website switches off gas and electricity switching service

As energy costs soar, many suppliers have removed their tariffs from Go Compare which decided to pause its switching service

Price comparison website Go Compare has announced it has paused its gas and electricity switching service amid surging wholesale gas prices.

The company said that current energy costs have forced many suppliers to remove their tariffs from the website.

It added: “We believe in always doing the right things for our customers, so we will start comparing again as soon as we are confident we can give you the service you expect. If you go direct to energy suppliers’ websites you might find better deals.”

Last week, another leading comparison website, Compare The Market decided to temporarily stop offering energy quotes during “this period of uncertainty”.
