ScottishPower and AA join forces beyond EV ‘range anxiety’

Drivers of EVs that run ‘out of charge’ could benefit from a free service from the AA

Energy supplier ScottishPower and the motoring association AA have announced a new partnership to calm worries that most electric vehicle (EV) drivers have about range anxiety.

The partnership will see any customer who purchases an EV home charger from ScottishPower get a free service from the AA.

Drivers who discover that they are “out of charge” when driving their EVs could contact the AA and pick them up and take them to the nearest EV charge point or home.

Chris Carberry, Smart Solutions Director at ScottishPower, said: “We are on a journey to net zero and by working with a fantastic organisation such as the AA we can help make that transition easier and quicker.”

Gavin Franks, Business Services Director at the AA, said: “We hope this partnership with ScottishPower will make drivers even more confident about making the move to EVs in the future.”
