Sumit Bose talked to Angus Forbes, Director of the Global Planetary Authority in Glasgow.

Mr Forbes, a strong advocate for global governance of the biosphere said: “Now humanity has reached a point that we run a planet with mother nature. That’s never going to end. So even we stop climate change we are going to have to worry about man-made chemicals, when we stop worrying about man-made chemicals which is never, we are going to worry about mining on the seafloor.

“Once we stop worrying about that we will have to worry about intergalactic mining missions coming back from Earth.

“The game now is that the relationship between humans and the Earth at this power level is never going to go away.”
