OVO has launched the UK’s first standalone EV Charger Cover, making home charging more secure and hassle-free.
Available to all home EV charger owners—whether they’re with OVO or not—the cover protects against faults, accidental damage, vandalism and theft, ensuring customers stay powered up.
With at-home charging costing as little as a tenth of public charging, more drivers are installing home charge points.
But with average installation costs around £1,000 and warranties often falling short, a protection plan makes financial sense.
OVO’s cover costs £3.50 per month (£30 excess) or £6.00 per month (£0 excess), offering up to £2,000 for repairs or replacements.
“Our standalone EV Charger Cover means that home charge point owners—not just OVO customers—can access affordable protection and get help fast if anything goes wrong,” said Alex Thwaites, OVO’s Director of Electric Vehicles.
To mark the launch, OVO is giving customers using Charge Anytime or an OVO-installed charger 12 months’ free cover (worth up to £72).
Other EV charger owners can get a year at half price.
