Mitsubishi Electric and Irish tech firm EVHACS have teamed up to deliver the world’s first integrated heat pump and EV charger.
They say it’s offering a breakthrough energy solution for homes and businesses.
The dual-function system enables heating, cooling and electric vehicle charging from a single unit and power supply—dramatically cutting costs, space needs and installation complexity.
Launched today, the innovation merges Mitsubishi Electric’s award-winning HVAC systems with EVHACS’ patented EV charging technology.
The result? One compact system that reduces emissions and boosts energy efficiency.
“This marks a major leap in sustainable building tech,” said Ciaran Moody, President of Mitsubishi Electric Ireland. “Combining two essential low-carbon systems into one delivers both convenience and climate action.”
The unit balances electrical load between functions, eliminating the need for grid upgrades and supporting future smart grid integration.
It suits homes and high-density urban areas where space or electrical capacity is limited.
Key benefits include:
- Simplified installation with one power line
- Lower total costs by removing the need for separate chargers and works
- Smart scheduling to optimise energy use
- Dynamic load balancing to prevent overdraws
- Compact footprint ideal for tight urban settings
The integrated units are available across Ireland.
