The new smart grid is expected to seamlessly integrate distributed energy resources such as wind, solar and micro-generation using bioenergy

Its software intelligently balances electrical loads from buildings that have been connected in a microgrid, incorporating renewable energy and battery storage

The project will allow higher capacity of new renewable generation projects to be added to the grid
