New exporters Jinhua Otmar Technology and Jinhua Seno Technology will pay an anti-dumping rate of 16.2% – down from 62.1% – to export their products to the UK
The move is part of a review of tariffs on hot rolled flat and coiled steel, which is primarily used in the mechanical and electrical engineering, construction and automobile sectors
The Trade Remedies Authority’s investigation found these imports ‘are being dumped into the UK at unfair prices and causing injury’ to the UK industry
Cold rolled flat steel is used in the manufacture of parts for the automotive industry and domestic appliances and can be found in consumer products such as radiators, steel drums and metal furniture
The Trade Remedies Authority will decide whether duties are still needed to offset dumping of these imports in the UK
