A £52 million funding has accelerated carbon capture and storage infrastructure development
The Treasury has taken back the amount it had allocated for the UK’s involvement in the European Union’s research programme
Each network will focus on key challenges facing UK cities or environments in green infrastructure development, low carbon connected digital infrastructure and sustainable urban systems
A total of 10 projects will be supported, with each aiming to help develop the self-sufficiency of supply chains and build the manufacturing base for power electronics, machines and drives (PEMD)
The Henry Royce Institute Hub building hosts state-of-the-art equipment and facilities for sustainable materials, metals processing, digital fabrication and biomedical materials research
Projects supported include autonomous four-legged robots given the ability to navigate through difficult terrain, including in construction and agriculture, as well as during natural disasters and measuring and mapping the origins of and reducing methane emissions
Developed by University of Bristol spinout QLM Technology, the camera can continuously detect, quantify and model the development of leaks and notify plant operators immediately when gas escapes
The hybrid-electric aircraft aims to offer a viable solution for regional carriers to support their decarbonisation efforts
Teams must have experience of researching energy as part of engineering or the physical, geological, biological and social sciences as well as equality, diversity and inclusion in an applied context
It aims to deliver environmental and economic benefits by helping industry and society to use fewer resources and reuse and recover products and materials instead of disposing of them after use
