New Earth Solutions, a waste treatment and renewables energy company, is set to double the waste material it can handle. The company currently has four facilities in operation but has recently been awarded several contract wins to operate more widely in the west of the UK.

The company has started expanding in the West of England with a new planning permission for energy recovery, a further local authority contract win, and the purchase of an additional consented renewable energy site.

The company which is currently building a 200,000 tonnes per year Mechanical Biological Treatment facility has said that after the recent developments it can now increase its treatment in the Avonmouth area to nearly double of around 400,000.

New Earth Solutions was also granted planning permission for a 7.5 MW renewable energy plant at the end of October.

Managing Director Chris Cox said: “We look forward to helping all of our local authority customers to divert their residual waste from landfill and move higher up the waste hierarchy, as well as offering options for local businesses to reduce their carbon footprints.”

New Earth Solution’s Mechanical Biological Treatment facility at Avonmouth is a £26 million investment with its first contract expected to begin in April of next year.
