More training for heat pump engineers

Platform offers new digital training courses to installers

As heat pumps rollout more engineers will be needed, now a leading firm is increasing training to cope with the expected demand for installers.

Ideal Heating has expanded its Expert Academy On-Demand platform with new digital training courses for air source heat pumps.

These courses offer step-by-step installation, commissioning and control guidance, allowing installers to complete the entire series, or access specific modules, as on-site references.

Designed to be practical, accessible and free, it’s hoped training like this is providing installers with flexibility to gain new skills at their convenience.

Andrew Johnson, Training Director at Ideal Heating, said: “We’re investing significantly in training and development to ensure installers have the skills for both today and for the UK’s net-zero future. We’re creating a comprehensive pathway for installers to confidently enter the heat pump market.”

Last year almost 60,000 heat pumps were installed.
