Iberdrola and Gamesa, two Spanish energy companies have ended an agreement dating back to June 2008, but say that they will continue to work together.

The two companies whose agreements established the building of a series of wind farms in Spain and other European countries said that the global economic scenario and the resulting impact on market conditions were behind their decision.

Iberdrola said in a statement that both companies would continue working together to “strengthen their respective positions in the wind energy sector.”
