Energy efficient buildings in Germany get €100m boost

Vivawest will use the funds to build 900 low energy housing units in North Rhine-Westphalia

The European Investment Bank is lending €100 million (£87.7m) to boost energy efficient buildings in Germany.

Vivawest will use the funds to build 900 low energy housing units in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Claudia Goldenbeld, CEO of Vivawest said: “As from 2020, we will complete more than 1,000 new rental housing units per year, with considerable emphasis on high energy efficiency – for the benefit of our customers and the environment.

“The finance contract provides Vivawest with a long term, unsecured loan on attractive terms and helps to diversify our creditor base.”
