David Cameron was doorstopped by a solar boss yesterday who took him to task over the government’s latest decision to cut the solar subsidy.
Erica Robb, boss of Solar Spirit in Reading, Berkshire told the Prime Minister she had been forced to lay off 30 staff before Christmas, according to reports.
Ms Robb is reported to have attacked the government’s plan to appeal against a High Court ruling which declared cuts to the Feed-in Tariff were unlawful.
She made the criticism while Mr Cameron was on a visit to a business in Maidenhead.
Mr Cameron is said to have acknowledged the “difficult” situation the solar industry faces but replied “the government and the taxpayer and the bill-payer faced a really big problem”.
