Fans to get charged up by Gunners

Arsenal and Octopus Energy have unveiled new EV chargers in the fan car park at Emirates stadium

The Big Zero report

Fans always complain about how much they are charged at Premier League games but now Arsenal have introduced a charge supporters will welcome!

New EV chargers have been installed in the fan parking zone at the stadium following a partnership of Arsenal with Octopus Energy.

The charge points can charge 14kWh during a typical football match, which is the equivalent of a two-hour drive after a game.

The new EV charging infrastructure is part of a list of initiatives launched by the partners, including the launch of sustainability classes for local children and the planting of 500 trees at the club’s London Colney training centre.

Mike Lloyd, Sustainability and Logistics Manager at Arsenal, said: “From a practical point of view, the installation of the chargers is very important to ensure we cater for our fans as EVs become more widely used.

“As a Premier League football club with a huge global following, it’s also crucial that we use our platform to promote green practices, inspire our communities and push each other towards a more sustainable future.”
