Spanish energy group Iberdrola has signed a deal to supply BP in Spain half a billion cubic metres of liquefied natural gas for a decade.

Iberdrola will deliver gas to BP starting in 2012 for a 10 year period from its long-term portfolio, having signed supply contracts with companies including Italy’s ENI, Sonatrach, Nigeria LNG and Statoil.

The Company last year signed a similar contract with Dong of Denmark.

BP has been distributing natural gas through its Spanish affiliate, since the business was first deregulated.
