Vestas sells wind turbine tower factory

The move aims to strengthen the wind energy supply chain and create more jobs

Vestas has sold the world’s largest wind turbine tower manufacturing factory.

The Pueblo factory in Colorado, US, currently employs more than 500 people and manufactures around 3,000 tower units a year.

The new owner of the facility will be Korean-based tower manufacturing company CS Wind.

Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Tommy Rahbek Nielsen said: “Across our global supply chain footprint, we are involving more partners to build on the foundations we have established for wind energy.

“This includes honing our own resources to where they can be most effective and transferring parts of our operational setup to be run by other industry leaders who can create more value and secure additional long-term jobs.”
