24/7 printing service Newnorth are a company that are finding a host of benefits in getting business-efficient.

Newnorth have upgraded 387 light fittings and now use Chalmor’s Refit T5 in conjunction with Chalmor’s BlueWave lighting controllers which has resulted in reduced electrical load and massive annual energy savings.

The upgrades mean Newnorth now benefit from annual savings of £13,000.

Mike Seamarks, Newnorth Director told ELN: “It’s definitely worth looking at electricity and water usage and joining a business cluster project to learn from each other.”

The printing company used an interest free loan from the Carbon Trust, which helped them pay for the improvements over the space of four years.

This year the company aim to explore the opportunities to be found in renewable generation. With 30,000 square feet of land at his disposal Mr Seamarks said: “With solar panels there’s now the incentive to sell energy back to the grid.”
