Last month saw 197,000 smart meter installations, a 15% drop compared to the same period in 2020.

That’s according to the latest report by ElectraLink which shows it is the second month in a row that fewer than 200,000 installations were recorded.

The data also reveals that East England, Southern England and East Midlands lead the list of the areas with the largest amount of new smart meter installations.

In addition, ElectraLink estimates that there have been 1.8 million installations so far this year and 16.6 million since the programme began.
