Welsh Santa’s bag has only trees inside!

Every household in Wales will be offered a tree to plant

Pathway to COP26 report

Santa Claus has come earlier in Welsh towns this year bringing trees for every home!

The Welsh Government has announced it will offer one tree for every household to plant in a bid to support its climate commitments.

The new offering will give people the chance to choose a tree of their own to plant or opt to have a tree planted on their behalf.

People will have the opportunity to collect the trees from one of the hubs that will be established in due course.

Lee Waters, Deputy Minister for Climate Change said the Welsh Government had partnered with the Woodland Trust to deliver the campaign.

Mr Waters said: “This will enable people in Wales to further understand and experience the many benefits that trees can provide, not only to the environment but also to people’s health and wellbeing.”

The Deputy Minister added that the government will launch a consultation in the first months of next year to create a National Forest for Wales.
