Scotland’s First Minister Alex Salmond yesterday officially opened the £4.2m Aberdeen headquarters of subsea technology group Hydro.

The Scottish company provides optical and electrical subsea products for use in the renewable energy, oil and gas and marine sciences industries.

Earlier this year, it won a £500,000 contract to provide a new high voltage connector for the Wave Hub project off the coast of Cornwall.
