Siemens Energy has received, in the first four months of 2011, orders for 151 onshore wind turbines in Europe with the combined capacity of around 360MW .

The installed capacity of these eleven orders will be sufficient to supply up to 230,000 European households with clean electricity.

Europe is the largest wind power market in the world, with installed capacity of more than 87,000 MW. The Global Wind Energy Council expects that by 2015 there will be as much as 459,000 MW of wind energy installed globally.

The leading supplier of products and services for the generation and distribution of power say the installed capacity of the eleven orders will be enough to supply up to 230,000 European households with clean electricity.

In 2010’s fiscal year, revenue from global wind totaled about €28 billion.
