The Green Deal energy efficiency scheme has more than £50 million worth of applications.

The Green Deal Finance Company said it has lent around £30 million for energy saving upgrades so far.

Around £21 million worth of applications were received in the last six months and are currently moving through the GDFC system.

Boilers, solar projects and insulation are some of the energy efficiency measures financed by the GDFC.

Mark Bayley, GDFC Chief Executive said: “GDFC continues to show strong growth every week. £50 million worth of plans and applications is a major milestone when you remember it’s barely two years since the first Green Deal plan was signed.”
