A decision on whether to allow Cuadrilla to frack in Lancashire has been postponed until Monday.

The British company has submitted two applications to explore for shale gas at Preston New Road and Roseacre Wood.

The council’s Development Control Committee met this week to consider the applications.

One of the applications relating to a site in Preston New Road has been deferred until 10am on 29th of June.

It will give councillors time to consider written legal advice requested during today’s meeting.

The meeting will continue tomorrow to consider the application for Roseacre Wood.

Francis Egan, CEO of Cuadrilla said: “As with all planning applications there is a procedure and process which is ongoing and as the applicant we await a final determination.”
