Georgina Penfold from YPO won the Industry Expert of the Year trophy at The Energy Live Consultancy Awards (TELCA).

The Energy Efficiency & Policy Specialist told ELN she is “incredibly shocked but very, very pleased” to have won the award sponsored by United Utilities.

Asked if TPIs get the recognition they deserve, Ms Penfold said: “In the sector, yes. Perhaps outside of it, not so much. It’s great that the work that ELN are doing because this is to my knowledge the only event that really raises the profile of the people in that room and there are so many really good people out there, that it’s great what you do for them all.”

The judges said there were many very good entries but added: “Georgina edged it because she displayed an enthusiasm for the big picture and understanding how public policy and industry trends affect her customers. But her high-level view of the sector was matched with an ability to win benefits down at ground level.”

The winners of TELCA 2016 were announced at an event in London last week.
