Refgas www.refgas-uk.com has refined its innovative CHP process over a decade or more, to provide energy-hungry clients with an efficient and cost effective solution for their heat, cooling and power needs.

Whilst others in the “advanced thermal treatment” sector demand that their feedstock (fuel) is processed and engineered to a strict specification, the whole ethos behind the Refgas design is that it can comfortably handle lower grade materials which are readily available and as cheap as chips…..like the recycled wood chips we see above. Derived from construction, demolition, house clearance and all sorts of residual and discarded materials, Refgas can happily use recycled wood in a range of particle sizes, containing paint, varnish, glues, resins, laminates, bonding agents, particleboard, MDF, etc.

Not only can it use them, but the gas it produces (syngas) is accredited as being cleaner than natural gas and, unlike many of its rivals, this product gas is badged as a commodity…..not a waste !! This is important as it guarantees ultra-clean emissions and environmental excellence, without the difficulties of planning, permitting and operation experienced by many technologies which use combustion techniques or less efficient thermal processes.

With modular systems capable of generating 1MW to 20MW of electricity per hour, 24/7, and a corresponding amount of heat for space heating, process use or even cooling, it’s little wonder that large, energy-intensive clients are taking a serious look at on-site heat and power generation……and kicking the grid into touch.
