Energy consultants play a vital role in recognising and driving forward innovation and development in the market.

That’s the view of Opus Energy, which is sponsoring the I&C Most Innovative Consultancy category at The Energy Live Consultancy Awards (TELCA) this summer.

A supplier of gas and electricity to more than 150,000 businesses across the UK, Opus Energy develops its products in house, which allows the company to be innovative when responding to feedback from consumers and consultants.

Steve James (pictured), Director of Corporate Solutions at the energy firm said: “By listening to customers’ needs and communicating these to suppliers, consultants can facilitate market innovation. They encourage product development that’s reflective of customer needs.

“The market is continually changing and this is something that consultants can facilitate. Good consultants use their knowledge of customers’ needs, the market and what suppliers are offering, to innovate and offer the latest solutions to customers.”
