The client, a boutique energy supplier, seeks a Sales Manager to join their team.

The role will lead the five direct reports.

This team is responsible for leading and delivering (PPA and SmartGen) products and services that provide a unique and trusted route to market for commercial (>30kW) commercial green electricity generators.

Reporting to the Head of Sales and Business Development, this role is responsible for ensuring that the team delivers its sales targets and excellent customer service to generators.

The purpose of this role is to provide strong leadership and people management to ensure that the team is able to operate efficiently, effectively and deliver to targets.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Experience of successfully leading high-performing teams in an operational environment; able to engage, motivate and, when appropriate, address performance shortfalls through effective management.
  • Experience of team management within a sales and account management function evidence of delivering team performance against new business and retention targets.
  • Experience in the energy industry.
  • Experience of negotiating contract clauses.
