EDF Energy has dropped its appeal against a decision to build a wind project near Bullington Cross.

Three Hampshire councils – Winchester, Test Valley and Basingstoke and Deane – turned down the company’s application in June 2014.

EDF had announced its intention to appeal against the decision in December last year but has now changed its plans.

The company stated its decision comes after reviewing the scheme following the government’s confirmation to scrap support for onshore wind.

The Bullington Cross wind farm was expected to have a capacity of 28MW.
