Renewable power company Good Energy has signed an agreement to explore the potential of supplying clean power for hydrogen production.

It will work with hydrogen specialist ITM Power and look at directly coupling renewable power generation in their portfolio with hydrogen fuel production sites to deliver zero carbon hydrogen.

ITM Power said it has a number of strategies for sourcing low carbon electricity for the operation of its hydrogen refuelling stations, including grid balancing to access green energy and renewable contracts.

Juliet Davenport, CEO at Good Energy said: “At Good Energy we’re proud to be working with ITM Power on this cutting-edge technology which can play a big part in the energy future of the world.

“The opportunities to work with ITM Power to see how we can integrate the transport, heat and electricity market are really exciting and we think we are a great fit to supply zero carbon renewable electricity for this inspiring venture.”
