E.ON UK has appointed Michael Lewis as its new head.

He will take on his new role from April 10th, succeeding Tony Cocker, who has decided to retire from the Big Six company to pursue a portfolio career at the end of July.

Mr Cocker has worked for the supplier for more than 20 years and led the company since September 2011.

Mr Lewis has been the CEO of E.ON Climate & Renewables since 2015, helping expand the company’s renewables business.

Board Member Karsten Wildberger said: “I’m delighted that Michael Lewis will be leading our business and team in the United Kingdom. His wealth of experience will help continue to accelerate our company’s transformation there.”

Anja Dotzenrath is to head the company’s climate and renewables unit and Marc Hoffman will become new CEO for Customer Solutions and Country Chairman for Sweden.

E.ON recently announced it is investing in four smart meter pilot projects in Germany.
