A wind farm located off the coast of Wales is nearing completion, with all 160 turbines now installed at the site.
The Gwynt y Mor wind farm will have a total capacity of 576MW and generate enough electricity to power around a third of homes in Wales, according to RWE Innogy UK.
Toby Edmond, Project Director for the wind farm credited the installation team for installing “all 160 turbines in just over a year”.
“Our focus now turns to completing array cabling and commissioning all turbines to ensure the wind farm is fully operational over the winter”, he added.
RWE has also installed the first turbine at its Nordsee Ost offshore wind farm in Germany.
