The UK gas system has opened long at 13mcm, according to npower’s daily market report.
That’s because the outage at Centrica’s Morecambe field has ended.
Norwegian flows through the Langeled pipeline are nominating at 38mcm.
Alex Guiot from the Optimisation Desk said: “Temperatures are warmer today but are forecast to drop below average next week. As a result, we can forecast LNG demand to be around 180mcm, 40mcm more than today.”
On the power system, the peak margin is above 10GW while wind is generating 500MW but it is expected to reach 1.5GW later today.
CCGT is providing 57% of the stack and coal 10%.
The French and Dutch interconnectors are importing close to capacity.
Brent oil is trading at $43.16/bbl (£29.7/bbl).
