An electric car racing league has formed a Global Advisory Board to help boost the global uptake of electric vehicles (EVs).

The move will see the original architect of the Paris Agreement, Christiana Figueres, join forces with French racing driver Alain Prost to chair the Formula E team.

They hope to drive the EV agenda, make an impact on reducing emissions and provide input and expert advice on topics such as sustainability, media and business.

They will be joined on the board by figures including CEO of Formula E Alejandro Agag, Chairman of Jaguar Racing Gerd Mauser, ex-McLaren Team Principal Martin Whitmarsh and reigning Formula E champion Lucas di Grassi.

Ms Figueres, former Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), said: “This unique forum at Formula E will allow us to bring great minds together with the same common goal, speeding-up the transition and use of electric vehicles in everyday life.”
