Energy efficiency firm Anesco has won a contract to fit solar energy systems to a handful of housing association properties.
Anesco will install five schemes for Yarlington Housing Group, which manages almost 9,000 homes across the South West of England.
The housing group will benefit from the Government’s Feed in Tariffs, which makes payments for energy generated and exported back into the national grid.
Caroline Moore, acting Chief Executive for Yarlington Housing Group said: “With this comprehensive solar scheme, we aim to reduce our carbon emissions and energy bills, and to bring a good return on investment, as we move towards becoming a leader in the low carbon energy generation.”
The contract follows the successful installation of a photovoltaic system at the housing association’s head offices in Yeovil earlier this year.
