A green transportation company in the US has launched a demonstration of a hands-free charging system for electric vehicles.
Evatran’s Plugless Power helps drivers to charge the battery automatically when they park in a specialist charging space.
The system works when a car is parked over a pad which starts charging the car automatically. Once fully charged, the system turns off and if the driver needs to leave before charging is complete, they simply need to reverse and the charging stops.
Rebecca Hough, Co-founder of Evatran said: “With Plugless Power, we’ve overcome one of the major obstacles to more widespread adoption of electric vehicles.”
Evatran has partnered with Google and installed a charging unit at its headquarters in California.
