The UK gas system is slightly undersupplied.
The linepack is forecast 7mcm short, according to npower’s daily market report.
Alex Guiot from the Optimisation Desk said: “Norwegian supply through the Langeled pipeline is nominated at near capacity again so has little flexibility for additional supply but Rough storage is again nominated low to start the day with withdrawals of just 15mcm.”
South Hook send out is at 24mcm and a new LNG cargo is expected to arrive later this month.
On the power system, the peak margin is at 12GW and peak demand is at 47.3GW.
Solar has peaked more than 3.5GW.
Wind is generating less than 1GW and is forecast to reach around 2.4GW.
Mr Guiot added: “Gas demand from CCGT is still nominated at 49mcm which is just a few less than yesterday.”
Brent oil is currently trading at $38.5/bbl (£26.18/bbl).
