Global power systems firm Rolls-Royce won a €250 (£209m) contract to supply the safety control systems for AREVA’s French nuclear plants, it announced this week. The instrumentation and control (I&C) systems will be installed in the twenty-strong fleet of 1300 MW nuclear reactors operated by EDF.

Benoit Chabre, President of I&C at Rolls-Royce said their technology would “ensure the safety and performance of the reactors.”

The firm has worked with AREVA and EDF for over forty years.
