The UK gas system is undersupplied at 18mcm, according to npower’s daily market report.

Alex Guiot from the Optimisation Desk said: “Norwegian flows are still affected by many outages with the restart delayed until the 8th of May.”

The Langeled pipeline is nominating at 13mcm and flows through St Fergus are cut by 5mcm.

Exports to Belgium are at 35mcm.

 

Mr Guiot added: “On the LNG side, things are looking good with South Hook nominating more than 42mcm.

“Temperatures remain for the moment warmer than usual being six degrees above seasonal normal levels but latest weather forecast suggests a cold snap could be on the way as we are expecting temperatures much below average in a week’s time now.”

On the power system, the peak margin is at 11GW and wind is generating 300MW.

CCGT is providing 60% of the mix and the Dutch and French interconnectors are importing close to capacity.

Brent oil is trading at $44.5/bb (£30.7/bbl).
