A two-week event will showcase, discuss and celebrate community energy projects across the UK.

This year’s Community Energy Fortnight, Powering Forward, will run from tomorrow until 18th September and stage events across the country to give everyone the opportunity to learn about and get involved with community energy. These will range from visits to wind farms and hydro stations to DIY solar panel workshops and group discussions.

Ramsay Dunning, Managing Director of Co-operative Energy, said: “Community energy projects have a unique ability to drive change and empower citizens, which is why we are so keen to support the Fortnight.

“The event has gone from strength to strength over the last four years and the UK has become a hotbed of community energy innovation, with record numbers of projects in place today.”

The event is run by Forum for the Future and Community Energy England on behalf of the Community Energy Coalition and will be sponsored by Co-operative Energy for the third year running.
