Ofgem has appointed a preferred bidder for the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm’s transmission link.

Transmission Capital Partners has been selected to own and operate the high-voltage connection between the Statoil-operated facility and the mainland for the next 20 years.

The organisation was chosen by Ofgem following a tender in which bidders competed to become an Offshore Transmission Owner.

The 402MW Dudgeon Wind Farm is located off the coast of Cromer in Norfolk and is expected to power close to 410,000 UK homes.

The transmission assets in question are estimated to be worth around is £377 million.
